Screening of 6 Iranian short films at the Moscow Film Festival

According to Fars news agency, four short films produced by the association will be screened at the 44th Moscow International Film Festival.

The short films “Dualpa” written and directed by Mohammadreza Moradi, “Dekal” written and directed by Babak Mostafavi, “Fashion” written and directed by Fardin Ansari and “Jan Dad” written and directed by Soheila Pourmohammadi, in the non-competitive section of Iranian Cinema Review (Motives Of Persia) will be screened at the Moscow International Film Festival. These works have been introduced to the 44th Moscow Festival through the international affairs of the association.

The Moscow International Film Festival was founded in 1935 and has been a continuous event since 1959.

The organizers of this festival believe that filmmakers “create their own world”, form a “new image language” and even define a new direction for national and international art as a general observer. Konstantin Stanislavsky said about this festival: “I believe in the Moscow festival.”

The review section of Iranian cinema (Motives of Persia) in this festival is a non-competitive section that is inspired by the poem called Persian Motifs, written by Russian poet Sergei Yesenin, and is held in honor of this poet. Sergei Yesenin (1895-1925), like his great predecessors Pushkin and Lermontov, dreamed of traveling to the wonderful land of Iran, and even though he had never set foot in Shiraz and Khorasan, from the origin of his love for Iran, he rode to these lands. The pink horse created his own imagination and composed the poem Persian Motifs. This poem has been published in Iran under the name “Dar Mayehaye Irani” translated by Hamidreza Atashbarab.

Two short films “Nasim” by Hamidreza Ghasemi and “Nafs Nakash” by Milad Nasim Sabahan from Iran will compete with works from other countries in the main competitive section of this period of the Moscow festival.

The 44th Moscow International Film Festival will be held in Moscow from August 26 to September 2, 2022, equivalent to September 4 to 11.
