Senior Iranian official: A return to the Vienna talks will take place in the next few days

A senior Iranian official in New York has said that a return to the Vienna talks will take place soon, in the next few days or weeks, Fars reported, according to Fars News Agency’s International Group.
Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken told a news conference Friday morning (Tehran time) that Iran had not announced a date for a return to the Vienna talks and had once again threatened the possibility of a return to bilateral engagement with the UN Security Council. It is not unlimited.
The US Secretary of State also claimed that given Iran’s nuclear progress, there may come a time when a bilateral return to the IAEA Board would not have the benefits of implementing the initial agreement.
We look forward to the Biden administration taking action to lift the sanctions
“We are waiting for action from the Biden government regarding the lifting of sanctions and the release of blocked Iranian assets,” al-Mayadin, who quoted the senior Iranian official as saying in a subtitle, said:
Although the Biden administration claims that it intends to pave the way for its return to a nuclear deal through the ongoing talks in the Austrian capital, Vienna, six rounds of talks have so far been held due to Washington’s insistence on maintaining some sanctions, as well as extravagance. Interference in Iran’s missile and regional affairs has prevented these talks from reaching an agreement.
One area of contention in the negotiations is the US insistence on maintaining some of the sanctions imposed on Iran by the Donald Trump administration following its unilateral withdrawal from the UN Security Council. In addition, the Biden administration has stated that it can not provide any guarantees that the next US administration will not withdraw from the agreement.

Iran’s skepticism about the Biden government’s real desire to return to the cup
“We are skeptical of the Biden administration’s willingness to return to the nuclear deal because of the lack of real evidence to support the Biden administration,” al-Mayadin was quoted as saying by the senior Iranian official in New York.
“Iran will never link its future to a nuclear deal, and we will never wait for that,” he said.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, who is in New York to attend the 76th session of the UN General Assembly, said in an interview today: “Let ‘s wait and wait for the outcome of the Vienna talks.” (More details)
In a meeting with the EU foreign policy chief, the Iranian foreign minister also announced that the 13th government would resume talks, adding that the new government was reviewing the case file. It will not waste time, you will not accept the unconstructive behavior of the United States, and it will not procrastinate the country with empty promises.
Talks with Riyadh are proceeding normally
“Negotiations with countries in the region, led by Saudi Arabia, are proceeding normally,” the senior Iranian official added.
The ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Baghdad, Iraj Masjidi, announced today (Friday) in an interview with the official Iraqi news agency (WAA) that the fourth round of talks with Saudi Arabia will be held in Baghdad. (More details)
“Dialogues with Saudi Arabia have seen constructive progress, and these talks with Saudi Arabia are moving forward in a growing process, and we hope to achieve certain results,” Masjidi said in the interview. This issue will be announced once these results are available. “Both sides are willing to negotiate and achieve results.”

Tehran is worried about the presence of the ISIS terrorist group in Afghanistan
“ISIL terrorists are currently heading to Afghanistan and Iran is monitoring their movements,” al-Mayadin was quoted as saying.
Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesman and deputy acting minister of culture and information for the interim Taliban government, said in an interview with Russian-language media today (Friday) that the group would never allow Afghanistan to be used against another country. (More details)
Regarding the Taliban’s relationship with Iran, Zabihullah Mujahid said, “We have no dispute with Tehran at the moment and we are trying to develop our relations with Iran.”
On the other hand, Amir Khan Mottaqi, the foreign minister of the Taliban interim government, called on the countries of the world to establish good relations with Afghanistan. He claimed that the Taliban government wanted good relations with all countries, especially Afghanistan’s neighbors.
We supply the fuel needed by Lebanon
“As long as the Lebanese need it, we will continue to supply the fuel they need,” the senior Iranian official said, referring to Tehran’s sale of fuel to Lebanon.
The Iranian official also announced Tehran’s readiness to build two power plants to supply Lebanon with electricity.
The fuel convoys entered Lebanese territory after Hezbollah Secretary General Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah, in a speech on the occasion of Ashura, announced the departure of fuel ships from Iran to Lebanon.
Following that, Lebanese sources reported last Thursday (September 16th) that the first convoy of Iranian fuel oil tankers had entered Lebanon via the Hermel-Al-Qusayr land border.
Lebanon has been facing a deteriorating economic situation, including fuel shortages, for a year and a half as a result of US sanctions. Some Lebanese businessmen have bought fuel from Iran through Hezbollah to contain the crisis and prevent the collapse of the country’s institutions.
Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah, Secretary General of Hezbollah in Lebanon
In his latest speech, Hezbollah’s secretary general said that an Iranian ship carrying diesel would also enter the Syrian port of Banias in the next few days. “It will also carry diesel and be sent later … The new government will decide on the next ships.”
End of message.
