According to the report published by WhatsApp, one of these two vulnerabilities is very critical and hackers can use it to exploit a code error known as integer overflow. With this method, hackers are able to execute their malicious codes by designing a special video call on the intended user’s smartphone.

In fact, hackers are able to install malware, spyware, and other malicious software on users’ phones due to vulnerabilities that can be used to execute codes remotely. In fact, these vulnerabilities significantly increase the level of hackers’ penetration into the user’s phone.

The new WhatsApp vulnerability has been registered in the national database of vulnerabilities with the identification code CVE-2022-36934, and it has a score of 9.8 out of 10 on the CVE scale; Such a score indicates that this WhatsApp vulnerability is at critical level as the highest threat level.

In addition, another vulnerability named CVE-2022-27492 is also fixed during this update. With this vulnerability, hackers can execute the desired code on the user’s device after sending a malicious video file. This vulnerability has a score of 7.8 out of 10 and this score puts it in the high threat level.

It should be mentioned that WhatsApp has recently fixed both serious security risks in WhatsApp during a new update. Therefore, it is recommended to update this messenger immediately whenever you get access to the Internet.
