Setting up an exhibition of handicraft products of artists in Malair Hamadan



According to Aria Heritage report, according to the public relations of the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of Hamedan Province, Mohammad Reza Khalji, on Thursday, June 18, at the opening ceremony of this exhibition, he said: In observance of Handicrafts Week and the 20th of June, which is called World Handicrafts Day, this exhibition with 40 booths will start today. It will continue until Friday, the end of June 26, and artists from the fields of leather, pottery, figure carving, small inlays, calligraphy rugs, etc. will present their products in this exhibition.

The Deputy of Handicrafts of the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of Hamedan said: Malayer city is the only city that has two international and national brands in the field of handicrafts.

Khalji stated: There are about 45,000 artists working in Hamedan province, and about 25% (a quarter) of these artists are working in 20 fields in Malair city, and most of the artists are active in inlay, pearl weaving, and calligraphy.

He added: Our purpose of holding exhibitions is to promote and prosper handicrafts, marketing and preserving and reviving fields that are becoming obsolete, introducing products to the audience and recognizing artists, etc.

In the opening ceremony of this exhibition, 2 works of Malayari artists were unveiled, including the world city of inlaid furniture, which was made by combining inlay and pottery, and a stone figure of an Achaemenid soldier, which was carved on stone by Malayari artist.
