Seyed Abbas Salehi became the editor-in-chief of the Information newspaper

According to a Fars News Agency media correspondent, the Supreme Leader appointed “Seyyed Abbas Salehi” as the representative of the Supreme Leader and the new editor-in-chief of the Information newspaper.

The text of the ruling of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution is as follows:

Dear Mr. Seyed Abbas Salehi Damat Tofiqaneh

The old information newspaper during the Islamic Republic has always been a representative and display of one of the sides of the system and the revolution and the spokesman of a group of dear people whose words are often reflected in this newspaper more than anywhere else. The multifaceted views and political tastes among the elites who share a strong belief in the revolution and the Islamic system made the existence of a newspaper with this feature useful and perhaps necessary, and it still is. The revolutionary and well-liked brother of the late Hojjat al-Islam Dua’i, who, in addition to the honor of representing the great Imam in that newspaper, had also been in charge of this mission for many years, was able to follow this orientation properly.

Now, after his unfortunate death, Your Excellency, with his brilliant scientific, militant and revolutionary background and taking on serious responsibilities in the Islamic Republic, you are at the top of the list of suitable people to carry out this mission. Therefore, I appoint you as my representative in the institute and the information newspaper and the editor-in-chief of that newspaper, and I ask God Almighty for your success.

Prior to this, Hojjatoleslam and Muslims “Seyyed Mahmoud Doaei” was in charge of this responsibility from 1980 until his death. He passed away on Sunday, June 6, at the age of 81.
