He added: “We also held the Premier League in due time with the presence of all the champions.” Although the conditions in Corona were very difficult, we fought the national championships for the youth and adults in December, and this caused the national team camps to start earlier than promised and in January, according to our goal.
The president of the Wushu Federation stated: There were also national fights and the Kurash League, and now the national team of this discipline is holding a final camp in North Khorasan to go to the Asian Championships in Tajikistan, which will start on March 17th.
Siddiqui stated that the Asian Kurash Congress will be held during these competitions, and explained: “The discussion of the Asian elections is Kurash and we are trying to get good seats with the active diplomacy that we have had in this section.” Now Kurash Iran has a world seat and I hope he will have a post in Asia as well.
Regarding the absence of wushu in the games of Islamic countries in Turkey, he said: Despite the many follow-ups we had, the host country did not want wushu to be in these games. In the previous period, many gold medals for Iranian sports were won by Wushu in the games of Islamic countries, and we could be the mainstay of our country’s sports in this period as well.
Regarding Iran’s international wushu programs next year, Siddiqui said: “We have a busy year ahead of us. Hangzhou Asian Games, World Games USA, China Universiade, Student Games, Asian Youth Games, World Youth Championships in Indonesia, Taloo World Cup and Kurash World Championships will be among our programs.
The President of the Wushu Federation continued: “This federation has always been a strong point for the Iranian convoy in the Asian Games and we very much hope to repeat the results of the previous period, which of course is very difficult to achieve.” For more than two years, the corona has created many problems for the state of world sports, and rising costs have made the situation more difficult. Other countries that are our rivals have invested more in Wushu and Kurash, and hosting China itself makes things harder.
Siddiqui added: “I hope we will receive the remaining credits of 1400 in the remaining days and next year the support will be provided in the early months.” It is definitely necessary for the esteemed Islamic Consultative Assembly and the Budget Program Organization to pay special attention to the entire sports family, because the Asian Games are very important for our country.
