Signing of numerous economic cooperation agreements between Syria and Belarus


According to the report of the International Economic Group of Fars News Agency, citing Rai Al-Youm, the official meeting of the government of Syria and Belarus, which was held on Thursday in Damascus, the capital of Syria, focused on issues of cooperation in economic, educational and cultural fields.

In this meeting, which was attended by the high-level delegation of Belarus with the Syrian Prime Minister in the building of the Council of Ministers in Damascus, many agreements were signed, which are supposed to be worked on in the next stage.

Syrian Prime Minister Hossein Arnous emphasized that the visit of the Belarusian delegation to Syria is an important point in the path of bilateral work between the two friendly countries and an important step towards strengthening cooperation between them in accordance with the instructions of Bashar Assad and Alexander Lukashenko, the presidents of the two countries, and for the benefit of both The nation is friendly.

Referring to the importance of trade exchanges between the two countries, its increase and the removal of obstacles that may hinder the presence of each country’s products in the markets of other countries, Arnous said: After a series of regulatory laws that facilitate the entry of private investors into the Syrian electricity sector Kurd, this sector, especially renewable solar and wind energy, is a profitable and attractive sector for investment.

He asked the prominent Belarusian companies in the field of electricity to enter the Syrian market with the participation of Syrian companies in order to make profitable investments in this sector.

Referring to the importance of strengthening and expanding the horizons of economic cooperation, Arnous appreciated and thanked the support positions of the Belarusian side in the war against terrorism and its supporters and the humanitarian aid to the Syrian side.

In his turn, the Prime Minister of Belarus, Roman Goluchenko, emphasized the importance of developing relations, especially in the economic and financial fields, and said: “The Council of Ministers of Belarus is implementing its current plan regarding trade exchanges between the two countries, while the joint committee Belarus and Syria will also try to overcome the obstacles that exist on the way to make this a reality.

Referring to the humanitarian aid of his country to the Syrian Ministry of Health, including medical equipment and clothes, he emphasized that the relations between the two countries will develop and his country will seek to develop it for the benefit of two friendly countries.

The delegation of Belarus arrived at Damascus International Airport on Thursday morning, and its journey will continue for two consecutive days with the aim of opening new horizons for the benefit of two friendly nations and countries and overcoming the problems facing Damascus.
