Southern Transitional Council in Yemen captured a region

According to IRNA, Colonel Mohammad Al-Naqib told the Turkish “Anatolia” news agency that today these forces were able to consolidate their control over the center of Al-Mahfad city.
He added: Our units succeeded in capturing this region to complete the “Eastern Arrows” operation and the full commitment of the southern armed forces to take responsibility in the fight against terrorism.
On August 22, the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council launched a military operation known as Arrows of the East for what it said was a fight against terrorist groups in Abyan.
The military official of the Southern Transitional Council added: “The control of the center of Al-Mahfad city was gained in this operation, the elements of the al-Qaeda group were expelled from there, and all necessary measures were taken for the security of this city.”
On September 18, 2021, the Southern Transitional Council also announced the complete control of Al-Qaeda’s main base in “Abin” called “Omran Strategic Camp”.
The military official said that the Omran camp is the largest base of the al-Qaeda group in the Middle East, which the group used to attack the center of Abyan in May 2021.
Anatoly reported that Al-Qaeda forces are in control of a number of southern provinces of Yemen, and every now and then they attack the forces of the resigned government and their security forces.
The southern provinces of Yemen, including “Aden”, “Shabwa”, “Socotri” and most of the province of “Abin” are under the control of the forces of the Transitional Council, who demand the separation of the southern part from the northern part.
Along with the southern provinces, Yemen has been involved in a war for more than eight years between the forces of the Ansarullah Movement on the one hand and the forces of the Presidential Council affiliated to Saudi Arabia, during which tens of people were killed and millions of others were displaced.
