Spend 120 billion rials to protect the historical fabric of Urmia

According to the public relations of the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of West Azerbaijan, Jalil Jabbari, in a meeting of the Urmia Urban Reconstruction Headquarters, said that the preservation of the historical fabric is a public duty. “Historical walls have been restored, and we request that this cooperation continue.”
The Director General of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of West Azerbaijan added: “Rehabilitation of a number of Urmia bazaars in cooperation with the municipality, revival and organization of the Urmia Grand Mosque, police station, governor’s office and mullah bath are among the measures taken in the historical context of Urmia.”
He continued: “Restoration of historical walls between Velayat-e-Faqih Square until the revolution was one of the approvals of the Urban Reconstruction Headquarters, which needs the serious attention of the officials.”
“The task of the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of West Azerbaijan is to compile specific criteria for the historical context, which has also done its job in the past years,” Jabbari said.
The Director General of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of West Azerbaijan stated: “According to the law, the General Directorate of Roads and Urban Development of the province is responsible for preparing a special plan for the protection of historical texture. “It has not.”
