According to the theater correspondent of Fars news agency, the meeting of the 13th Basij Theater Festival and the 5th Basij Film Festival was held this morning at the Shahr Theater Hall of Fame with the presence of Javad Jamiri (Chairman of Basij Artists Organization), Arash Zainal Khairi (Secretary of Basij Film Festival), Saeed Najafian (Festival Secretary). He added: “Today, we will unveil the poster and statue of two Basij theater and film festivals.” Mr. Arash Zainal Khairi is the secretary of the film festival and Mr. Saeed Najafian is also the secretary of the theater. God willing, we will hold the closing ceremony of these two festivals at the end of December. The theater festival will be held in Mashhad and the film festival will be held in Tehran.
Jamiri emphasized: Every period we go through, there is growth in both quality and content, and we have witnessed this growth in these fourteen theater periods, which can be seen in both the content and the number of works. In addition, the quality of the works has also increased. We introduce new faces in each period, and Basij Artists considers it its duty to introduce these faces to the artistic community.
In the continuation of this meeting, Saeed Najafian said: Last year, we did not expect that this event would be well received after a 5-year break, but in the previous period, 694 works were sent to the festival, and this year, more than 700 works were sent to the festival in the street and stage section, of which 94 The work is related to stage and 74 street performances, and in the final stage, 15 stage and 15 street performances were selected, and the festival will be held near Imam Mehrabani.
In addition, Arash Zainal Khairi also stated: Good things happened in the national short festival, the provinces became active after several years, and our film festival, which will hold its fifth edition, will be judged in two sections. In the first part, 32 judges were introduced from the Council of Provinces and started their activities in the provinces for the selection and judging stage, and finally, by reviewing the works in the provinces, the selected works made it to the national festival, and after the judging process, the closing ceremony will be held and in We are thinking that one day the works will be screened in a campus in Tehran.
He added: We have considered a special section titled “Oppression of Gaza” this year. The works were submitted out of turn, but due to the short time, we considered the screenplays and the screenplays that make it to the festival will be financially supported. In fact, the works are judged in two stages, in the first place, the works are judged in the provinces, and then the selected works come to the final stage, which takes effect in the five sections of the festival: screenplay, documentary, short film, music video and animation. In total, 603 works were sent to the festival, which are 175 screenplays, 345 documentaries, 127 music videos, 56 animations, and 245 short stories.
In the continuation of this meeting, Najafian introduced the list of judges for different sections of the Basij Theater Festival and said: Mehdi Kamos, Mehdi Nasiri, Ayoub Aghakhani, Bahar Karimzadeh and Mehrdad Kureshnia are judges in the playwriting section. In the stage theater section, Farhad Qahemian, Khairullah Taghianipour, Mahmoud Paknit, Mahosh Sabrkan, and Jalil Farjad, and in the street section, Dariush Nasiri, Mohammad Larti, and Ali Rouhi are the judges of this event.
In the end, Zainal Khairi said: The judges of the different parts of the festival have been selected and we are waiting for the approval of the Policy Council, which will be finalized by the end of the week. We have tried to organize a healthy and high-quality festival so that we can appreciate the efforts of the unknown Basijians in the field of culture.
