Charso Press: Last week, Mohammad Hossein Mahdovian, who is often known for his organic works at the box office, protested against the rejection of his two screenplay license requests and used literature that is more common in the blood group of the opposition than a filmmaker supported by the regime’s cultural institutions. But why were these two scripts rejected?

The screenplay of “Outcast” was an adaptation of Albert Camus’s novel The Alien, which was rejected by the film organization due to cultural differences and its content, and Mahdovian, who thought that the problem was with the producer, changed the producer this time to Mohammad Reza Mansouri to make a dark comedy. He applied for a manufacturing license in the name of “Blah Barun Sweet”. The story of this script is the story of a family who don’t have money to buy Belah Brun sweets in the amount of three hundred thousand tomans and are forced to steal mosque carpets!

This script was rejected due to blackness and the prevalence of despair. Cinema directors had previously said that, unlike the previous government, they would give production permission to films that would not be suspended in the screening license, and on the other hand, cinema should promote good mood and hope, not play with the psyche of the society.
