According to Mehr reporter, Mohammadreza Davarzani said about the change in the technical staff of the national volleyball team: We do not evaluate a tournament. The day Atai started working, Iran’s ranking was in 12th place, but now we are in 10th place. It is true that the number of our losses was high, but were our conditions fair? Even Atai himself did not know who he was giving a visa to, and in the end he did not show up in America.
He stated: The federation and the technical staff use all the capacities of volleyball. We do not have an angle with any of the players who worked hard for volleyball in the last 20 years. But has this discipline been supported as much as the capacity of volleyball? In just a few days, we gave 2 billion tickets. We need serious support from the government and the National Olympic Committee.
The head of the volleyball federation noted: Our team is going to leave for Brazil after the Asian Games, it is not possible without a business ticket because we have little time. We explore all the weaknesses of volleyball. We have important competitions ahead of us this year
The referee, stating which tournament is Iran’s volleyball priority, said: Asian Games are very important for Iran’s caravan. On the one hand, participating in this tournament will eliminate the players’ military service, which is the concern of some players, and on the other hand, we have to participate in the Olympic selection four days later, of course, this issue is not unique to us, and four Asian countries also have the same conditions.
Regarding Atai’s retention as the head coach of the national team, he said: “With Atai’s opinion, we are looking for a foreign coach, the technical staff will be supported and strengthened.” People are concerned about the loss of national teams and we have to solve them.
In support of volleyball youth, the head of the volleyball federation stated: Some of these events happen in clubs. The player is available to the clubs from September to next year. I have the duty to review the performance of the national team. I make decisions based on facts. I am the first person to apologize to everyone about the federation’s shortcomings. And we don’t hide behind the technical staff either.
Regarding the presence of people in America, he said: Everyone’s presence in America was necessary. We were the smallest caravan of Iran’s national volleyball team, their number was 23 people, and two people were added to us in America. If we could, we would not go to America, but because the World Federation was the host, we had to go. Finally, the World Federation considered a special privilege for us.
In response to the question of whether it was better for the people who were sent to America, the head of the volleyball federation said: We did not only have games in America, but there were issues that we needed a person who was aware of international issues. Akbar Mohammadi was involved in the national team. Does the federation have a lot of money to send extra people? The treasurer was also sent because the passports of four players had problems in Frankfurt and a supervisor was needed to be with them.
The referee said about the reason for closing the comments in the virtual space: the website of the federation is open and the opinions of people and experts can be seen. When the team is in a tournament, criticism is different from insult. Our players are very emotional. The Federation welcomes the opinions of experts and constructive critics. But in these two weeks, the cyberspace was inflamed towards the players of the national team and the head coach, and we wanted to maintain peace in the cyberspace.
The head of the Refereeing Federation mentioned about advancing to the Paris Olympics: I clearly promise that Iranian volleyball will participate in the Olympics. Weaknesses are fixed. I pray that we are not injured. Our assets are these players and I was affected by the condition of my injured players.
