Sudani’s meeting with Talabani; The Iraqi border control process was reviewed

According to the report of the international group of Fars news agency, Bafel Talabani, the head of the Patriotic Union of Iraqi Kurdistan, visited the Prime Minister of this country, Mohammad Al-Sudani, this Saturday afternoon.
The Sudanese Telegram channel announced by publishing a statement that in this meeting, the state of general policies, the efforts of the Iraqi government, the importance of the service role of executive institutions at the level of Iraqi Kurdistan provinces and other provinces of this country were reviewed.
According to this statement, in this meeting, several cases at the level of national cooperation between the federal government and the Kurdistan region were reviewed, including providing services to citizens, following up efforts to secure the borders of Iraq and progress in controlling it based on the decisions of the Iraqi National Security Council.
In this regard, Tahsin al-Khafaji, the official spokesman of the Iraqi Army’s Joint Operations Command, said on December 22 that the borders of the Kurdistan Region should be controlled quickly. He said that the Kurdistan region’s request to Iraqi Interior Minister Abdul Amir al-Shammari to increase the number of border guards was accepted.
Al-Khafaji stated that the purpose of increasing the number of these officers is to speed up the border control and prevent any violation of the Iraqi borders, and clarified: There are many border points between us and Turkey on the border zero line and the current number (of border guards) It is not enough to control all borders.
The Minister of Interior of Iraq went to Erbil on 21 December along with Qais Al-Mohammadavi, Deputy Commander of the Joint Operations Command of the Iraqi Army and a number of Iraqi officers, and was welcomed by the Minister of Interior of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
A meeting was held between the delegation members of the Iraqi central government and the delegation of the Kurdistan region. In this meeting, important issues, especially raising the level of cooperation and coordination between the two sides, were discussed.
The Iraqi Interior Minister continued to emphasize the need to fully control the country’s borders with Iran and Turkey, and at the same time stated that these two issues are very necessary. In the end, Abdul Amir Al-Shammari pointed out that the border police command of this country has completed all the details and entered the implementation phase.
