Syria bans import of Iranian cars

According to Eqtesadonline; While increasing car exports is one of the main plans of the Ministry of Silence in the 13th government, it has been announced that Syria, as one of the countries aligned with the Iranian government, has banned the import of Iranian cars. Tehran Chamber Public Relations Surveys show that the Syrian government has revoked the license to import Iranian-made cars for at least the past year and a half, and that no domestically produced cars are allowed to enter the country.

The study shows that the Syrian government has set and enforced some stringent standards, including reasons for banning the import of cars and parts from Iran, while the Syrian government has also increased tariffs on car imports from Iran.

The member of the Tehran Chamber of Deputies approved the ban on the import of Iranian-made cars and auto parts by Syria, and did not consider this decision to apply only to Iranian cars, stating that this ban has also been applied to products from other countries.

According to Mohammad Reza Najafi Manesh, the Syrian government has issued a permit to import cars from Iran along with other countries, but the lack of sufficient currency and concerns about exchange rate fluctuations in this country are the main reasons for this decision.

Announcing that Iran had built a three-hall car factory in Syria in recent years, he noted that talks between Iran Khodro and the Syrian Prime Minister and the Syrian Ministry of Industry had begun last year to re-issue a car import license from Iran. Irankhodro is trying to persuade the country’s officials and decision-makers to allow the import of Iranian products, given the existence of the only three-car car factory from Iran in this country.

According to Najafi Manesh, the Iranian negotiators also offered Syrian government officials solutions to avoid the need to transfer currency to import cars from Iran, and the creation of a credit line through the Export Development Bank of Iran, including ways to encourage the Syrian government to re-import cars from Iran. It is Iran.

According to the Tehran Chamber of Public Relations, the ban on the import of Iranian-made cars to Syria has been in place for more than a year, with Iranian carmakers seeking to enter other markets in the region, including Armenia, and even the Azerbaijani market.
