Syrian oil and gas exhibition, fields and opportunities

According to the report of IRNA correspondent from Damascus today (Saturday), this exhibition is in various fields such as transportation, petrochemicals, safety and health, recycling of petrochemicals, minerals in the field of oil and gas and petrochemicals, consulting and environmental research of petrochemicals. , provides equipment, mining, exploration and… services.
The third edition of the specialized international oil and gas exhibition of Syria was opened with the presence of “Bassam Tomeh”, the Minister of Oil and Mineral Mines of Syria, Mehdi Sobhani, the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Syria, as well as some Syrian officials and journalists.
The purpose of holding this exhibition is to enter the oil and gas investment market in Syria and to create opportunities for companies in the global arena to enter their products in the Syrian market.
This market is one of the potential and important markets for the export of Iranian products to Syria, and maybe the presence in this exhibition will create a direct connection between the traders of the two countries.
One of the main and vital sources of funding for the Syrian government has always been the oil and gas industry, and with the beginning of the crisis in this country, terrorist groups such as ISIS began to steal the country’s oil for years, and then American terrorists replaced Takfiri groups in stealing lives. And they belonged to the Syrians.
Although the income from oil in Syria is small compared to other oil-rich countries in the Middle East, this amount is very important for the Syrian government.
Syria’s oil reservoirs are mostly concentrated in the east of this country, in Deir Ezzor province and near the border of Iraq, and the Hasaka region in the northeast of Syria. After the outbreak of war and the beginning of conflicts in 2011, the oil production of this country collapsed and it can be said that it practically stopped.
Until 2014, ISIS took control of most of the regions and oil reserves in eastern Syria, including al-Omar, the country’s largest oil reservoir in Deir Ezzor province.
After that, oil sales became one of ISIS’s biggest sources of funding, to the point where the United States Department of Defense revealed in 2015 that ISIS’s monthly revenue from Syrian oil sales was about $40 million.
After Turkey’s sudden attack and its military operations in northern Syria, although the Kurds have lost their control over many areas of Syrian territory under the supervision of American terrorists, they still control most of the oil reservoirs east of the Euphrates in the hands of democratic and American forces. has remained.
According to the current situation, the government of Bashar al-Assad is in dire need of oil reserves and is forced to import significant amounts of oil from foreign countries, but due to the unilateral and strict sanctions of the European Union and the United States, importing oil is also a very difficult task for The government is Bashar al-Assad.
In recent years, the main supplier of Syrian oil has been the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Not long ago, the managing director of the British oil company “Gulf Sands” claimed that the Syrian Kurds are currently extracting about 70,000 barrels of crude oil per day.
In another interview with MEES magazine, he suggested that the oil of the areas under the control of the Syrian Kurds be spent to meet the needs of the people of this country under the supervision of the United Nations.
According to the figures of the Syrian Ministry of Oil, 70,000 barrels of oil are stolen daily by the American occupying forces and its mercenary forces in the eastern regions of Syria.
During the decade of the war against Syria, the United States has always supported separatist militias and occupied the oil-rich areas of Syria under the pretext and claim of fighting terrorism and ISIS, as even Donald Trump, the former president of the United States, has clearly said. It was said that the presence of American troops in Syria is because of the oil wells.
After several years of the Syrian crisis and the establishment of security in many areas of this country, which was achieved thanks to the blood of Syrian martyrs and the Islamic Resistance Front, the establishment of the Syrian Oil and Gas Exhibition is a good opportunity for participants to present their products to private sector managers and Syrian government officials can have direct and face-to-face negotiations with them.
Considering the existence of strategic political relations between Syria and Iran, as well as the approach of the Syrian war to its last station, and at the same time, the serious damage to the country’s infrastructure and the need to rebuild it, and at the same time, low customs tariffs for Iran, which are four percent. and the absence of Iran’s regional competitors in Syria, especially in the oil and petrochemical industry, as well as the existence of valuable oil reserves in Syria that require participation in the extraction, refining and production of oil products, all these cases indicate a suitable platform for investment. It is in this field.
After opening this exhibition and visiting the participating booths, the Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources of Syria said to reporters: This exhibition has become a turning point for the development of the Syrian oil sector in the past few years.
“Bassam Tomeh” added: This exhibition succeeded in being a platform where we can see experiences, new promising ideas and good investment opportunities and an opportunity to exchange knowledge and experiences about the oil industry, including lectures and scientific meetings.
The oil minister of Syria stated: The oil sector is one of the carriers of the national economy, which has been targeted by terrorist organizations since 2011.
He pointed out that the unfair actions of the West have led to the prevention of investment and technology in this sector.
The Minister of Oil and Mineral Mines of Syria added: “In these exhibitions, we seek to attract experts and interested companies from friendly countries with the aim of finding an alternative to Western technologies and finding solutions to serve our oil sector.”
The ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Syria also told reporters at the opening ceremony of this exhibition: Eight large Iranian companies are present in this exhibition, which export their products to eighty countries around the world.
Mehdi Sobhani added: Iran has very valuable experience in the fields of oil, gas, petrochemicals and petroleum equipment and materials.
He pointed out: holding this exhibition gives the opportunity to private companies to increase their relationship with Syrian companies.
The ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Syria said: Considering the cruel sanctions of the enemies against Iran and Syria, Iran can complement Syrian companies in the fields of oil, gas and petrochemicals.
He stated: In the field of oil cooperation, there will always be cooperation between us and Syria, and we are friends in difficult times.
Director General of Mashhadani International Group, the organizer of this Damascus Oil Exhibition, also said: This exhibition has been launched under the supervision of the Syrian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources.
Khalaf Mashdhani added: 60 companies from public and private companies and joint sectors and a group of domestic and foreign oil and energy industry experts are present in this exhibition.
Mashdhani noted: This exhibition will be available virtually for those who could not attend or participate, and the link to enter it was published on the first day of its launch.
In this period of the international oil and gas exhibition of Syria, where 60 domestic and foreign companies participated, eight Iranian companies also participated and had a strong presence.
