At the same time, he said: “The telephone conversation between the presidents of the two countries did not include a discussion about the details of the agreement, and Bashar Assad has emphasized to Aoun that there is a possibility of contact between the foreign ministries of the two countries to discuss and review the border delimitation case and its technical details. “
The Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar previously announced, quoting its sources: Lebanese President Michel Aoun had a phone call with his Syrian counterpart Bashar Assad three days ago and discussed bilateral relations and demarcation of maritime borders.
According to this newspaper, in this telephone conversation, the two sides agreed to form official delegations from the departments and ministries of the two countries and to hold meetings in Beirut and Damascus to reach an agreement quickly; Especially, the differences between Beirut and Damascus are not of a type that cannot be resolved; However, it needs technical and legal reviews.
This newspaper added: Aoun and Bashar Assad emphasized: Lebanese-Syrian negotiations without any mediation and agreement between the two countries will be a bilateral treaty and will have nothing similar to the agreement on the blue border between Lebanon and occupied Palestine, and the relevant parties in the two countries Now they are preparing documents related to geographic coordinates and special lines of economic zones.
