According to IRNA, on Wednesday, January 6, the Taekwondo Federation Electoral Assembly voted for Hadi Saei as president, and a few days later, on Saturday, January 7, while sports fans were waiting for his introduction ceremony to be held at the federation’s venue and Saei could do his job. To begin. After Saei’s victory in the Electoral Assembly of the Taekwondo Federation, Seyed Mohammad Poladgar was elected and introduced as the vice president of championship sports by the order of Seyed Hamid Sajjadi.
It is now 6 days since the Taekwondo Federation elections and the Minister of Sports and Youth, Seyed Hamid Sajjadi, has not yet issued a decree presiding over Hadi Saei.
The problem is the half vote, and the organizers could have taken the election to the second round.
According to the election guidelines, the Saei sports federations should have received 29.5 votes, but he was elected chairman by the assembly with 29 votes, which was approved by all and the minutes were signed. Now the Ministry of Sports must decide on it and implement it with the statute and solve the problem. Undoubtedly, the annulment of the elections will destroy the rights of the members of the Assembly.
Meanwhile, Seyed Mohammad Poladgar, who has been the head of Iranian Taekwondo for more than 20 years, must understand the situation more than anyone. Due to the short distance to the Olympics and the importance of Taekwondo for the expedition convoy, the status of this federation should be determined as soon as possible. Undoubtedly, with the introduction ceremony of the president of the federation, peace will return to this proud family in the Olympics, so that the upcoming programs, especially the three international tournaments that will be hosted by our country in March, will not face any problems.
Poladgar announced on Monday that the ministry has not yet made a decision on the Taekwondo Federation Assembly, and that it is hoped that with his and other ministry officials, the existing problem will be resolved as soon as possible so that the Olympic discipline can advance its plans.
