Shahroud river, with a length of 175 km, was created from the joining of two rivers, Alamutroud and Taleghanroud. The lake created behind this dam is one of the natural attractions of Taleghan city, which is nearly 15 kilometers long and is a suitable environment for attracting tourists.
The presence of fertile soil and high humidity and the presence of numerous springs have made the Taleghan region green, and the orchards include; Walnuts, apples, cherries, pears, olives, hawthorns, mountain barberry and mountain almonds and… plantain, willow trees, as well as the presence of herbal and medicinal and ornamental plants such as rhubarb, chives, sedges, chicory, thistles, thyme, milk oats, There are yarrows, brinjasaf, gorse, anemones, etc., which have greened the heights like a gem and made everyone’s eyes watch this nature.

Taleghan has long attracted the attention of mountaineers, and perhaps one of the main reasons is that the Taleghan mountain range is bordered by one of the highest mountain ranges in Iran, Takht Suleiman, and the village of Prachan is one of the starting villages for climbing to the high peak of Takht Suleiman and Alam Koh and others.
