Taliban Foreign Minister: It is time to save the region from political strife and war

During a meeting with his Uzbek counterpart on the sidelines of the Antalya summit, Taliban Foreign Minister Amir Khan Mottaqi stressed the need for trust between the countries of the region and the resolution of political disputes and war.

Referring to the rapid development of countries in the region in the political, economic and security fields, Mottaqi said that now is the time to trust each other and save the region from the negative effects of political disputes and war.

The Taliban’s foreign ministry said the two foreign ministers had also discussed expanding trade and economic ties and facilitating future relations.

Also during the meeting, Uzbek Foreign Minister Kamlov stressed the importance of security and unity in Afghanistan, saying that now is a good opportunity for Central and South Asian countries to implement trade, energy transmission, transportation and other major economic projects.
