Taliban spokesman: The issue of Iran’s water supply has been resolved

According to Fars News Agency’s Afghanistan website, Taliban government spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid expressed satisfaction with the good relations between Iran and Afghanistan in an interview with Sahar TV.

A Taliban spokesman said in an interview that the issue of tensions between Afghanistan and Iran had been resolved, adding: “If the Afghan side has enough water, the Islamic Republic of Iran will also benefit from the water.”

A Taliban spokesman added: “Neighboring countries’ concerns about drug trafficking from Afghanistan are understandable and the Afghan government is committed to preventing drug trafficking, but Afghan farmers are struggling with economic problems and can not do without alternative cultivation. “It banned Afghan farmers from growing poppies.”

To stop poppy cultivation in Afghanistan, he said, the international community’s help and cooperation is needed to provide alternative farming to Afghan farmers.
