Tanzania welcomes Khazali’s offer to train Tanzanian women and girls



According to IRNA, Ensieh Khazali, Vice President for Women and Family Affairs, met with Dorothy Gawajima, Tanzania’s Minister of Community Development, Gender, Women and Special Groups, on the sidelines of the 66th meeting of the Commission on the Status of Women at the United Nations in New York. کرد.

Referring to the good relations between Iran and Tanzania, the Vice President mentioned the activities of Iranian women and some of their capabilities in the field of information technology.

Khazali announced Iran’s readiness to educate Tanzanian girls and women in these fields, as well as skills in the micro and conversion industries.

Tanzania’s Minister of Community Development, Gender, Women and Special Groups also outlined his ministry’s activities, which include a variety of issues, including the disabled, women heads of households and gender-related issues; He welcomed the proposal of the Islamic Republic of Iran and expressed hope that during his visit to Iran, he would get acquainted with the capabilities of Iranian women.

According to IRNA, the 66th round of the annual meetings of the Commission on the Status of Women, after a two-year hiatus due to the corona outbreak, will be held on Monday, March 14 (March 22, 1400) at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

This meeting, which will continue until March 25, 2022 (April 5, 1401), was held in the presence of leaders and high-ranking officials in the field of women in the countries.

This year’s meeting of the Commission on the Status of Women, entitled “Achieving Gender Equality and Empowering All Women and Girls in Climate Change, and Environmental Risk Reduction Policies and Programs.”

The Commission on the Status of Women is one of the first international bodies established under the auspices of the United Nations Economic and Social Council to make decisions and policies to improve the situation of women around the world.

The Commission is the main international body that submits its recommendations and reports to the Secretary-General on all issues related to women, and takes immediate action to prevent or reduce violations of women’s rights.

In the recent elections of this commission, despite all the sabotages, we witnessed the remarkable success of our country in gaining 43 votes out of 54 votes of the member countries of the UN Economic and Social Council. The official membership of the Islamic Republic of Iran in this influential UN body has started this year and will continue for up to 4 years.

This great achievement provided an opportunity for the Islamic Republic of Iran to dynamically raise the legitimate positions of the regime on the issue of women and the family in international forums.
