Targeting a foreign base in Ukraine with an “Alexander” missile + video

According to Fars News Agency’s International Service, the Russian army targeted a base of foreign forces in Ukraine using a ballistic missile called “Alexander”.

Russia’s Defense Ministry today (Friday) released a video of an Alexander M tactical ballistic missile being fired at a “foreign mercenary base” in Ukraine.

According to the RIA Novosti website, the video shows how the Alexander missile launcher enters the position with a loading vehicle, the combat crew prepares to fire, and then the 9M723 ballistic missile is launched.

According to the clip, the video also shows images of the launch of R-500 cruise missiles from the Alexander M series from other launchers.

According to the report, the ballistic missile hit a building housing foreign troops based in Ukraine.

“Because a powerful explosive warhead was used, the 60-meter building was almost completely destroyed and the enemy was hit,” the Russian military concluded.

According to RIA Novosti, the Alexander ballistic missile is designed to attack targets behind enemy lines. High firing accuracy at considerable range, short preparation time for launch, high efficiency overcoming missile defense allow this missile system to quickly ensure the failure of any conventional target with a single launch or two missiles.

Earlier, the Ukrainian military claimed that a Russian fighter jet had been shot down, claiming that separatist forces in Donetsk and Luhansk were planning to lay siege to Kiev. (More details)
