TCL has unveiled the world’s first phone with a paper-like display


Before the start of the IFA 2023 exhibition, TCL unveiled the world’s first smartphone with NxtPaper display technology, which conveys a feeling similar to paper to the user. This smartphone, which is called TCL 40 NxtPaper, is launched in 4G and 5G versions, and with NxtPaper technology, it puts less pressure on the user’s eyes.

TCL unveiled the second generation of NxtPaper technology earlier this year, but only three tablets and one laptop have been equipped with it. Now this technology has entered the world of smartphones for the first time.

Technical specifications of the TCL 40 NxtPaper phone

This smartphone is equipped with a 6.78-inch LCD screen with Full HD+ resolution and 90 Hz refresh rate. This device uses a special mode that makes the user interface gray for easier reading of texts and less strain on the eyes. In addition, by using a special case equipped with a T-Pen, this display can be used as a notebook.

The power of this device is provided by the MediaTek Helio G88 chip, which is accompanied by 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal memory; Of course, it is also possible to use a memory card. On the back panel of this device, there is a triple main camera with a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 5-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. The selfie camera of this device is 32 megapixels.

Other features of the TCL 40 NxtPaper include a stereo speaker with DTS 3D Boom Sound technology, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a 5010mAh battery with 33W fast charging support.

The 5G version of this smartphone is equipped with a smaller 6.6-inch screen with HD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 90 Hz, and it still supports the T-Pen pen. NxtPaper feature allows the phone to change the color temperature of the display based on the ambient temperature.

The price of new TCL phones

The TCL 40 NxtPaper phone has a price of 200 euros and will enter the European market from next month. The 5G version of this device will be sold in the European market in two months at a price of 250 euros.
