Intel previously confirmed that the new Z790 motherboards will be equipped with LGA 1700/1800 sockets and will support both 12th generation (Alder Lake) and 13th generation (Raptor Lake) processors.

MSI and other motherboard manufacturers had previously released BIOS updates for Z690 motherboards with the aim of compatibility with new generation Raptor Lake processors.
