technology transfer condition; The bump in car import / Are the promises of the Ministry of Silence implemented?

According to Tejarat News, it was in September of this year that the regulations Car import It was announced. Although since the regulation was drafted, the Ministry of Safety has repeatedly announced that foreign cars will enter the country in the near future, but in the end, there was no news of the implementation of this regulation.

Now that the names of the importing companies have been determined, the import was expected to enter a new phase. But as seen, despite the talks of the officials of the Ministry of Security that the import of foreign cars is close to the country, the customs offices are empty of foreign cars.

Although some importers have introduced their selected cars for import, it seems that the importing companies have faced serious problems and have not yet been able to send a car to Iran’s borders. Of course, in the meantime, some selected import companies announce that they are negotiating with foreign customers. But this does not mean that imported cars will approach the country.

Transfer of import bump technology

After announcing the names of the selected companies for import, it was found that Car import It is monopolized by car manufacturers. The Ministry of Privacy in response to the criticism of monopoly and rent Car import entered, he brought up paragraph eight of the import regulations and paragraph two of article four of the Law on Organizing the Automobile Industry.

This paragraph of the regulations referred to the condition of technology transfer and for this reason, many companies that applied for imports withdrew.

There are speculations regarding the import delay which is related to the technology transfer clause itself. Before this, Ali Jedi, Chairman of the Parliament’s Industries and Mines Commission, to ISNA He said: Due to the weight of the goods and the time-consuming clearance, in the best case, the Ministry of Security can import 5,000 devices, but the rest must be produced.

According to the Chairman of the Parliament’s Industries and Mines Commission, it seems that importers should start assembling after limited imports, and this is the reason for their delay in importing.

In the meantime, the Ministry of Interior once again announced a new date regarding the entry of imported cars into the country. Omid Qalibaf, the spokesman of the Ministry of Security, announced in an interview: We have planned to import 200,000 cars in the next six months.

He added: According to the plan, 100,000 vehicles will be imported in the remaining three months of this year, and the same number of 1,402 cars will be imported in the first quarter of the year.

It should be noted that this is not the first time that the officials of this ministry make such a promise to the people. Experts believe that a car cannot reach the country until the end of the year, and if any action is taken, it will be for next year.

Another point about Car import to the country, the expiration date of the regulations. Automakers have only until the end of this year to register orders.

Importing cars, treating Iran’s market

Although the plan Car import It was supposed to be implemented with the aim of compensating for the lack of car supply to the market, but according to experts, the prescribed number of imported cars will not affect the Iranian market. Because the number of these cars is not enough to meet the needs of the market.

On the other hand, economy cars are imported into the country with a price of billions and are considered among the luxury cars in the market. For this reason, it has no effect on the price of cars that belong to the middle class of society.

Now we have to wait and see how the Ministry of Security will deal with the promise of importing cars and whether it will be able to implement this promise in the end or not?
