The total balance of deposits reached 7,369 hemats

According to the report published by the central bank, at the end of April 1402, the total balance of deposits in the banking network has reached more than 7,369 thousand billion tomans. This is despite the fact that the mentioned figure has recorded an increase of 33% compared to April of last year. In addition, the total balance of deposits has increased by 1.3% compared to March of last year.

The calculated deposits in these statistics are divided into two categories: Riyal and foreign currency, most of the figures of Riyal deposits include non-governmental sector deposits with banks and credit institutions, such as sight deposits, Qarz Al-Hasna, and short-term and long-term investment deposits. Also, the majority of foreign currency deposits are made up of demand, term, savings and non-governmental documentary credit advances.

Which provinces have the most deposits?

Examining the statistics and figures of deposits by province indicates that Tehranis have allocated the largest amount by depositing the amount of 3,960 thousand billion tomans. Also, the citizens of Isfahan and Razavi Khorasan provinces have deposited 367 thousand billion tomans and 303 thousand billion tomans, respectively, and are in the next ranks.

On the other side, there are the provinces of Kohgiluyeh, Boyer Ahmad, Ilam and North Khorasan, which have the lowest amount of deposits in April.

Reduction of facility balance in April

Another part of the central bank’s report includes the balance of facilities in April this year. Based on this, the total balance of the facility decreased slightly during the month of April and reached 5,583 thousand billion Tomans. Nevertheless, the comparison of this figure with April of last year indicates a growth of 34.2%.

According to the announcement of the central bank, most of the loans paid to the banking network include government claims, granted facilities (currency and rials), as well as overdue, delayed and doubtful claims.

The lead of Tehranis in receiving facilities

The provinces of Tehran, Isfahan and Razavi Khorasan are also leaders in the facilities sector and the balance of their facilities in April this year was recorded as 3,350 thousand billion tomans, 240 thousand billion tomans and 181 thousand billion tomans, respectively. In this way, 60% of the total granted facilities have been awarded to Tehranis.

Kohgiluyeh and Boyer Ahmad have a smaller share in the facilities sector than the rest of the provinces, and the citizens of this province have borrowed only 21 thousand billion tomans during this period.

Shortage of provinces deprived of loans

The noteworthy point in the reports of the Central Bank of the balance of facilities granted and deposits in the provinces is the significant difference between the statistics and figures related to Tehran province and other provinces. According to the report of the central bank, one of the main reasons for this is the establishment of offices of many companies and production institutions of other provinces in Tehran province and the majority of their banking activities are carried out through bank branches in Tehran.

However, it should not be overlooked that the more deprived provinces of the country, such as Kohgiluyeh and Boyer Ahmad, Ilam and South Khorasan, have always received the lowest amount of facilities in recent months, and it seems that the citizens of these provinces are short of bank loans.
