This position was announced by Brigadier General Patrick Ryder, Pentagon spokesman, and added that at the same time, no American military forces were involved in the attacks on Iran.
This American official, however, refused to comment further.
It was first reported by the Wall Street Journal, citing several anonymous sources, that US officials acknowledged Tel Aviv’s role in the attack. A US official, speaking on condition of anonymity, told Reuters that Tel Aviv appeared to be involved. Several other US officials also declined to comment, stressing only that Washington had no role in the incident.
Also, an American military official in the region said that considering the location of the attack in the center of Iran and the size of the drones, there is a possibility that the attack was carried out from within Iran’s borders.
