Tensions in Republican relations ahead of midterm congressional elections

According to IRNA, the Hill website wrote: The resolution of the Republican National Committee (RNC) is the latest controversy in recent weeks, which, according to members of the Republican Party, has taken the Biden administration out of the spotlight. Republicans are trying to downplay their differences over the Jan. 6 (December 17, 1999) attack on Congress by supporters of former President Donald Trump.
Two senior Republican officials in Congress voiced opposition to the Republican National Committee resolution, which emphasized the differing views of senior Republican leaders on the issue of attacking Congress and Trump himself.
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell has stated his opposition to the resolution. The resolution described the attack on Congress as a “legitimate political discourse.” McCannal has criticized the Senate decision to condemn Adam Kinzinger and Liz Cheney for opposing an attack on Congress.
McConnell said the attack on Congress was an insurgency aimed at trying to prevent a peaceful transfer of power after the legitimate election approval process.
He has publicly blamed Trump for attacking Congress and accused him of being morally and politically guilty.
In an interview with Hill, some congressional leaders said they were not at all surprised by McCannell’s opposition, but what surprised them was his use of the word “insurgency.”
Kevin McCarthy, the leader of the Republican minority in the US House of Representatives who also has close ties to Trump, has defended the use of the term “legitimate political discourse” by the Republican National Committee.
The contradictory statements of the two senior Republican officials reflect their differing policies in defense of Trump.
McCarthy is increasingly trying to align his position with Trump as he seeks to win the House of Representatives if he wins a majority in the midterm congressional elections.
McConnell, on the other hand, is mostly trying to avoid referring to Trump. Trump has repeatedly criticized the US senator in interviews with the media.
Some Republicans have also questioned Trump’s claim last week that his then-deputy Mike Pence could change the election results. Trump’s assertion that he will pardon those convicted of attacking Congress if he wins the 2022 election has sparked controversy among Republicans.
Republicans worry that the party could be harmed in the run-up to the November midterm elections by keeping the January 6 attacks in the spotlight. They believe that other issues, such as inflation and the economy, provide a good opportunity for them to win a majority in the elections and in the Senate.
Republican leaders in the US House of Representatives are trying to avoid emphasizing differences in the run-up to the midterm congressional elections.
The midterm elections for the US Congress are scheduled to take place on November 8, 2022, equal to 17 Aban 1401, in which all 435 seats in the House of Representatives and 34 out of 100 seats in the Senate will be contested.
