The $ 10,000 prize of the Turkish Festival went to “White”
The Turkish International Film Festival awarded a $ 10,000 prize to the short film “White-clad” by Reza Fahimi.
Theater News Base: The short film “White-clad” written and directed by Reza Fahimi and produced by the Iranian Youth Cinema Association won the grand prize of the “International Yunus Emre Short Film Competition” in the amount of $ 10,000 in Turkey.
“White” has previously participated in prestigious festivals such as Clermont-Ferrand, France and Japan Shorts, and has won awards such as the Grand Prix of the Tehran International Short Film Festival, the best film of the Sulaimaniyah Film Festival in Iraq and the best film of the Canberra Film Festival in Australia.
Younes Amreh International Short Film Festival is held in the framework of the year of “Yunus Amreh” (poet) announced by UNESCO. Referring to the 700th anniversary of the death of Younes Amre, UNESCO named 2021 as the year of Younes Amre. In this regard, the Younes Amreh International Short Film Festival is held with the aim of transmitting the universal messages of this poet that have survived to the present day, to the whole of humanity through the language of cinema.
From this perspective, the festival seeks to invite filmmakers from around the world to inspire humanity with love, peace, altruism and unity, inspired by Younes Amre’s poems in the face of xenophobia, hate speech, discrimination and marginalization.
