The 8-core Ryzen 7 7745HX processor is -34% faster than the 6900HX in Cinebench R23

AMD’s Ryzen 7000HX Dragon Range laptop processors are AMD’s new generation of high-end processors for professional laptops, which are based on Zen 4 desktop silicon. The power of these processors is above 5 watts and they will be used in professional and high-end gaming laptops. Recently, the performance results of the Ryzen 7 7745HX processor from this series Seen in Cinebench R23. This 8-core processor is not the weakest processor of this series, and a 6-core processor of this series called R5 7645HX is also available.

Ryzen 7 7745HX processor in Cinebench R23

As we said, the performance results of the Ryzen 7 7745HX processor in Cinebench R23 have been published on the Bilibili website. In this benchmark, this processor was able to obtain single-core and multi-core scores of 1828 and 18606. It is worth mentioning that the base frequency of this processor is 3.6 GHz and its increased frequency reaches 5.1 GHz. The power consumption of this processor is between 45 and 75 watts, which is more than the average power consumption of AMD processors in these years.

Interesting results are obtained from comparing the performance of this processor with AMD’s flagship processor of the previous generation and Intel’s Raptor Lake HX and Alder Lake HX processors. As the results show, the R7 7745HX processor outperforms the R9 6900HX Zen 3 Plus processor by about 15% in the single-core test and 34% in the multi-core test. This comparison is between two 8-core processors, although the maximum frequency of the newer processor is 200 MHz higher.

Interestingly, the R7 7745HX manages to match the multi-core performance of the recently released 65W non-X R7 7700. In addition, this processor is very close to the Alder Lake HX flagship, i.e. the 16-core i7 12950HX processor, and only has a 5% difference in performance.

AMD is going to release the first laptops equipped with Dragon Range processors this month. Therefore, we are waiting for more news and reviews of these laptops in the coming days.
