The ability to edit messages will eventually reach WhatsApp messengers. This feature is reportedly currently being developed for all platforms.

According to 91Mobiles, WhatsApp is now working on a new feature that will allow users to edit messages. This useful feature is being developed for iOS, Android and desktop platforms.
The popular chat messenger had previously tested an editing feature in 2017 that never made it to the stable version. But now the WABetaInfo website has announced the development of this feature after seeing it again. This means that WhatsApp message editing capabilities are not yet available for the beta, but can be expected to be released soon.
As the name implies, this feature allows you to edit your text message. According to a preview shared by WABetaInfo about this feature, by tapping and holding the message, a three-dot icon will appear at the top of the text, allowing you to edit your message.
At this time, it seems that the edit history of a message is not displayed, but as mentioned earlier, due to the fact that this feature is still under development, changes in how it works will be possible. There is currently no information on WhatsApp time limit for editing a message after sending it.
