The ability to edit tweets has finally been added to Twitter. But this feature is currently available for paid subscribers, and it’s not what you think.
Have you ever taken the time to write a tweet on the social networking site Twitter, only to realize moments later that you made a typo? Normally in such a situation you have to delete your tweet and take time to publish it again or at least you are forced to forget to edit your tweet.
But now Twitter has announced that it is testing a tweet editing feature that will allow users to edit their tweets after they are published. But the ability to edit tweets has certain features that make it not what you think.
Tweet editing features
Edited tweets have an icon, timestamp, and label to notify other users that the tweet has been edited. Tapping on the corresponding label allows users to view the edit history; This feature displays the previous versions of the tweet before it was edited.
Twitter warns that tweets can only be edited within 30 minutes of publication. According to Twitter, the reason for displaying the edit window and the edited stamp is to protect the integrity of conversations on Twitter and provide a history of what has been written to the public.
Twitter says it’s testing the tweet-editing feature on a small group of users to get feedback and fix potential issues. Twitter Blue subscribers are the first to get access to this feature. These users can expect to receive this update in the coming weeks.
Twitter Blue is Twitter’s $4.99 per month subscription plan that gives subscribers access to exclusive and premium features. Currently, Twitter Blue members enjoy the Undo Tweet feature, which allows users to preview a tweet one minute before it goes live.
