The ability to organize groups is added to WhatsApp

A version of the feature was spotted last year, but the company has not yet confirmed its existence.

WhatsApp allows people to combine separate chat groups under a single umbrella with a tailored structure, according to a WhatsApp blog post. With this feature, people can send updates to the whole community and in a simpler way organize smaller groups to discuss the topics they want.

Of course, the company did not provide details on how the groups are formed. But a WhatsApp spokesman said the main idea was to provide more communication channels to groups than WhatsApp’s current capabilities.

WhatsApp is launching a community feature test for some countries this year, but will gradually launch it worldwide.

Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta Platforms (WhatsApp parent company), said that the ability to community is a big change for WhatsApp and Meta.
