The American president will hold talks with his Chinese counterpart in the next 10 days

According to IRNA, Reuters reported on Thursday that Biden plans to talk with his Chinese counterpart by the end of this month.

According to this report, Biden told reporters while returning from a trip to Massachusetts: I think I will talk with President Xi Jinping in the next 10 days.

The conversation between the leaders of the two countries is at a time when the situation in Taiwan has raised the tension between the two countries to the highest level, and on the other hand, the Biden administration has reduced customs duties on goods imported from China due to domestic economic problems, including unprecedented inflation and pressure on consumers. is under review.

America considers China as a strategic competitor and last month pressured NATO to include Beijing as a security challenge in its strategic document.

According to Reuters, on Wednesday (local time), in a conversation with reporters, Biden expressed doubts about the visit of Nancy Pelosi, the speaker of the US House of Representatives, to Taiwan next month. The President of the United States said in this regard: “The army currently thinks that this is not a good idea, but I don’t know what the situation is.”

Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that it has considered Biden’s comments and that Taiwan and the United States have good communication channels and mutual trust. However, the department added that it had not received detailed information about Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan.

Pelosi’s office also declined to comment on whether the trip would take place or not for security reasons.
