The annual inflation rate was announced in terms of income deciles

According to the economic correspondent of Fars news agency, the consumer price index of the whole country based on the cost deciles was published by Iran’s statistics center in January 1401.

The range of twelve-month inflation changes in the main group “food, beverages and tobacco” is between 64.1% for the eighth decile and 68.9% for the first decile.

The inflation rate of the whole country in January 1401 is equal to 46.3%, which fluctuates between 43.7% for the tenth decile and 53.2% for the first decile in different deciles. Also, the mentioned information about the main group “non-food goods and services” is between 34.3% for the first, third, fourth and fifth deciles and 38.1% for the tenth decile.

Inflation gap of cost deciles

Based on the numbers related to inflation among different cost deciles, the inflation gap of deciles reached 9.6 percentage points this month, which has increased by 0.3 percentage points compared to the previous month (9.2 percentage points). The inflation gap in the main group of “food, beverages and tobacco” has increased by 0.3 percentage points compared to the previous month, and in the main group of “non-food goods and services” it has increased by 0.3 percentage points compared to the previous month.
