The anti-Iranian vote of the Swedish Parliament against the IRGC

According to the report of Fars International News Agency, the Swedish Parliament, by passing a plan today, asked the government of this country to try to include the name of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in the list of so-called terrorist organizations of the European Union.

The action of the Swedish parliament is a continuation of the efforts of European countries to give artificial respiration to the disturbances in Iran.

Earlier, the European Parliament passed a non-binding resolution that asked the European Union to include the name of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in the list of so-called terrorist organizations of the Union.

However, a week later, the European Union refused to include the IRGC’s name in the list, despite imposing new sanctions against some IRGC members.

Iran had previously warned that in case of any action by the European Union against the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, it will give a proportionate response to this action.

On the 3rd of February, before the beginning of the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the European Union, Burrell emphasized that the inclusion of the name of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in the list of terrorist organizations requires a court decision.

After Borrell’s retreat, the authorities of other European countries backed off from their initial strong promises to take such measures.

For example, German Foreign Minister Analena Baerbock said on March 1 that German experts have not found any legal basis for placing the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in the list of so-called “terrorist” organizations in Europe. “We don’t have the European Union to put the Revolutionary Guards in the list of terrorist organizations.”

The German Foreign Ministry announced on January 30th that putting the IRGC in such a list faces legal obstacles.

Christopher Berger, the spokesman of the German Foreign Ministry, said in a press conference in Berlin on January 30: “Our position is that such an action is politically sensible – and our foreign minister has emphasized this issue several times.” »

The European Parliament’s anti-Iranian action against the Revolutionary Guards is a follow-up to Trump’s policy, which for the first time put the official military institution of a country on the so-called terrorist list.

The movements of the Europeans to act against the Revolutionary Guards have met with the reaction of the authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Seyed Ebrahim Raisi, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, called this move out of desperation and added that this action “was done after their unsuccessful street efforts to hit the Iranian people so that they could stop the Iranian nation as they thought. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps is an official force and a part of the country’s military organization, and this action is against international laws and the United Nations Charter.
