The assistant and actor of “Kubrick” films died

Leon Vitali, personal assistant and actor in Stanley Kubrick’s films, died.
Charso Press: “Leon Vitali”, the English actor of the movie “Barry Lyndon” and a close colleague of “Stanley Kubrick”, the great filmmaker, died at the age of 74.
Although Vitaly was often recognized as Kubrick’s assistant, the documentary Filmmaker, released in 2017, revealed Vitaly’s extensive and little-known collaborations with one of the greatest figures in cinema history. He worked closely with Kubrick in various film projects such as “Shining” and “Eyes Completely Closed” and has played a role in various fields from acting to acting.
Before meeting Kubrick, Vitaly was known as an actor in Britain and appeared in several British TV shows.
In 1974, he appeared in the role of “Lord Bullingdon” in the movie “Barry Lyndon”. “Vitali” became so enamored with Kubrick’s filmmaking that he decided to give up acting and devote himself to the director’s professional activities for more than two decades.
After playing in Barry Lyndon, Vitaly worked with Kubrick as the director’s personal assistant on The Shining, but that was only part of the story.
He also helped four-year-old actor Danny Lloyd and Louis and Lisa Byrne to star in Danny Torrance and The Terrible Twins.
After Kubrick’s death in 1999, Vitaly oversaw the restoration of many of the director’s films, eventually receiving an award.
