The beginning of the meetings of the expert panel of the members of the Asian Exchange Union at the Central Bank

According to Iran Economist From the Central Bank, in line with holding the 51st Asian Exchange Summit on Tuesday and Wednesday (2nd and 3rd of June this year), the expert meetings of the members of this union are currently being held at the Central Bank.
The Asian Exchange Union, including 9 main members, was established in the 1970s with the aim of reducing the need and dependence on global currencies, especially the dollar.
In the 51st meeting of the Asian Exchange Union, while amending the Union’s statutes in order to facilitate the acceptance of new members, the determination of the new currency basket of the member countries in order to settle exchanges without the need for Euro and Dollar currencies will be discussed and reviewed.
The feasibility and use of digital currencies of central banks for cross-border payments and the unveiling of the interbank messaging network of the member states of the Union are among the agendas of this summit.
