Charso Press: The 79th Venice Film Festival started on Wednesday night with the world premiere of the film “Snow White” by Noah Baumbak and a video message from the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.

The story of the film is about a university professor named “Jack Goldney” (Adam Driver) and his wife “Babbet” (Greta Gerwig), who struggle with the fear of death and family life after a chemical explosion that pollutes the air.

Before the screening of the opening film, “Alberto Barbera”, the director of the festival, officially opened the festival with the presence of the jury members of the competitive section headed by “Julien Moore” and with the presence of seven other figures, including Leila Hatami, and “Volodymyr Zelenskiy” Like the opening ceremony in Cannes, he sent a video message that was played at the opening ceremony in Venice, asking the world community not to forget the war in Ukraine.

Also, the French director Arnaud Depletion awarded the honorary golden lion award of the festival to the long-time actor of French cinema, Carterine Denot, which was accompanied by a standing ovation from the audience in the hall.

The 79th Venice Film Festival, the oldest film festival in the world, will be held in Italy from August 31 to September 10.
