Paul Joseph Schrader, born on July 22, 1946, is an American screenwriter, director and critic. Schrader was born in a religious and strict family in Michigan, USA, and did not see a movie until the age of 17, when he sneaked out of the house. He started his career in cinema by writing reviews.
Schrader is the author of several screenplays for Martin Scorsese’s films, including “Taxi Driver” and “The Last Temptation of Christ.”
During the 37th Fajr International Film Festival, Paul Schrader came to Iran and also held a screenwriting workshop at the Faculty of Cinema of the University of Arts.
