Today (Saturday) “Asghar Azizi-Aqdam” competed against Ivan Mikolic from Croatia in the final of the 75 kg weight category in the Tokyo Paralympic Games.
In this competition, which was held in the taekwondo hall of “Makohari Mesa” complex, Azizi-Aqdam won with a result of 12 to 10 and won the gold medal so that Iranian taekwondo would also become gold.
In the first round of this fight, the Croatian opponent won with a result of one to seven, but Azizi-Aqdam in the second and third rounds, with the excellent guidance of “Payam Khanlarkhani”, turned the fight process around and won 12 to 10 to make the winner of this fight sensitive.
With these descriptions, the Iranian sports caravan, which had entered the tournament with 62 athletes, ended its work by winning 12 gold, 11 silver and one bronze medal, and was ranked twelfth in the medal distribution table.
The Iranian Paralympic convoy stood in the 15th place in the 15th Games with 24 medals (eight gold, 9 silver and seven bronze).
