The climate change bill is being prepared to be sent to the parliament

According to Moj news agency, Ali Selajgeh said at the meeting of heads of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s foreign missions held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stating that today environmental issues have affected all aspects of human life. Currently, one of the most important environmental challenges in the world is climate change. At the Environmental Protection Organization, we are preparing the climate change bill to be sent to the parliament, and I hope that in the near future, our country will become the hub of climate change management in the region.
He pointed out: Today, our country has reached thresholds in terms of environmental indicators, and we no longer have the opportunity for trial and error.
The vice president considered environmental diplomacy to be the precursor of political diplomacy and clarified: environmental challenges are common to all regions and countries of the world and everyone should join hands and manage these challenges.
Selajgeh further listed issues such as the water shortage crisis, the phenomenon of dust and environmental pollution among the most important of these challenges and emphasized the need to use the capacities of diplomacy in order to manage these challenges.
The head of the Environmental Protection Organization further said: The United Nations has introduced our country as the host of the International Dust Conference, and this conference will be held on September 18 and 19 this year. We ask the ambassadors and heads of representative offices of the Islamic Republic of Iran abroad to cooperate with the Islamic Republic of Iran to hold this world conference and use all the necessary capacities to hold it as grandly as possible.
Referring to our country’s membership in several international conventions and protocols in the field of environmental issues, he addressed the heads of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s missions abroad and stated: Try for Iran’s more active presence in these additional conventions and protocols.
Referring to the western sanctions against the Iranian nation, Selajgeh said: Currently, our elite youths have risen to face these sanctions in the form of technological and knowledge-based companies and are seeking to meet the country’s needs in various fields. Introducing the country’s innovative and knowledge-based achievements to the world and building capacity for the presence of these products, especially environmental products, in global markets is one of the requirements that must be followed by our agencies abroad.
In another part of this gathering, the ambassadors and heads of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s representative offices abroad discussed various environmental issues with the Vice President and the head of the Environmental Protection Organization.
