The project “History of the World, Part I” will finally have its second part, and the streaming service Hulu has ordered the production of a series as a sequel to this classic Mel Brooks comedy film.

“History of the World, Part II” will be a direct sequel to this 1981 film. The film consisted of different parts that told the story of different periods of world history. These include the Stone Age, ancient Rome and the French Revolution. Like many of Brooks’ works, the film had several musical sections.

Brooks will co-write and co-produce the new series with Nick Kroll, Wanda Sykes and Ike Barinholtz. It is not yet clear which world events this series covers.

Hulu has commissioned eight episodes of the series, and the Writers’ Room is scheduled to begin work in October. The production of the series will start in the spring of 2022.

Brooks said: “I am very eager to be able to tell the real truth once again about all the ridiculous stories that have deceived the world and created the belief that they are history!”

Brooks, a comedy legend who won four Academy Awards, an Emmy, a Tony and a Grammy, wrote “History of the World, Part I” and starred in five different roles.

Brooks’ comedy films are among the best, including “Young Frankenstein” and “Producers.” He later turned these two films into musical theatrical performances. He has also directed several films, including “The Movie Man” by David Lynch.
