The conference “International Law and Armed Conflict in the Region” will be held in Qom

Mustafa Fazaeli told reporters on Sunday that the Middle East region has always been involved in crisis and war over the past decades, and that these events have affected Iran in various dimensions, and its effects should be examined from different dimensions, especially the issue of international law.

According to him, it is hoped that this conference will be able to provide scientific content that can be offered for resolving armed conflicts at the international level.

Fazaeli added: “Armed conflict in the West Asian region with regard to the issue of the law of force and examining the justifications of countries involved in conflict and conflict, armed conflict in the West Asian region in terms of human rights and humanitarian law, armed conflict in the region in terms of rights after War and terrorism in the region and armed conflict are the four pillars of this international conference.

He said: “Humanitarian law focuses on wartime rights, which are designed to protect the lives of civilians, civilian targets, non-use of prohibited weapons, environmental issues, etc., and the extent of violations should be investigated since the presence of foreigners in the region.”

He said: “In relation to the issue of armed conflict in the region from the perspective of post-war law, the governments involved should be held accountable for their actions and violations of the law and take responsibility for their military operations after the end of the conflict.” No, and any violation of the law can be prosecuted at any time.

Fazaeli added: “The Middle East is one of the main centers of the phenomenon of terrorism at the international level and our country is also one of the victims of terrorism. Afghanistan is another country that has created endless conflicts.”

According to him, so far 120 articles have been sent to the secretariat and the selected articles will be published in the form of a book and will be published in a specialized legal journal in English.

He added: “During this conference, a workshop on war crimes prosecution will be held with the presence of experienced professors.”
