The conspiracy of the United States and the Zionist regime to steal Lebanese gas and sell it to Europe

According to Fars News Agency’s International Economics Group, quoting HomelandThe signing of the gas agreement between Europe and the Zionist regime in Cairo coincided with the end of the visit of the American mediator “Amos Hokstein” in the indirect talks between Beirut and Tel Aviv on the maritime borders of the two sides.

During his visit to Beirut, Hokstein was seeking written or verbal confirmation from Lebanese officials to remove the idea of Lebanese participation in the gas field, Al-Watan newspaper reported.

In an interview with Al-Watan, Lebanese writer and analyst Mohammed Obaid spoke of the connection between the US mediator’s efforts to advance the gas extraction process and Cairo’s signing yesterday of a tripartite agreement with Tel Aviv and Europe to export gas to EU member states.

He added that the Karish oil field, where gas production is scheduled to begin in late September, will be one of the main sources of Mediterranean gas to continental Europe from the beginning of 2025.

Obaid stressed: “Based on the available data, Hokstein’s goal was to obtain Lebanese written or oral approval to eliminate the idea of partnership in his field of work; While the Lebanese army command, according to confirmed studies, has proven that a large part of its oil field is the right of Lebanon.

He added: “The data show that the Zionist regime has delayed the conclusion of a quick agreement with Lebanon and has sought to create a reality that will make it difficult for Lebanon to take any international legal action to stop extraction and production operations in its field.” Because according to international law, in case of installation of gas extraction platform and equipment and start of production and non-protest of the respective country, according to international law, the issue becomes an acquired right for the country that has started the formalities.

Obaid noted that Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah’s views on the demarcation of the border with Israel were twofold: Take back; But in case of failure, the second option is on the table, which is the pressure to stop production operations and the pressure on the ship to keep it away from its field of work, ie the possibility of escalating tensions in the region is strong.

Al-Watan newspaper quoted an Iranian official as saying: “Behind all the wars, the issue of energy supply has been raised, and the Syrian war has been caused by the gas issue, and in any case, there is balance in the region and the Axis countries will not be under siege; Especially since their countries are the bearers of a lot of energy, and despite the difficult conditions, this will not lead to surrender.

The Minister of Energy of the Lebanese Ministry of Development, Walid Fayyaz, has also announced that a meeting will soon be held in Beirut with representatives of the Egyptian and Syrian Ministries of Energy to sign the issue of sending gas from Egypt to Lebanon via Syria. The agreement is being finalized.

These days, the debate between the Zionist regime and Lebanon over the maritime borders between the two sides has escalated. Lebanon says that it is negotiating with the Zionist regime over the areas between the so-called 23 and 29 sea lines.

A few days ago, the Zionist regime sent a ship to extract gas from the “Karish” gas field, which is located in the disputed area called Line 29 between the occupied territories and Lebanon, which provoked a serious reaction from Beirut officials and politicians.

According to studies by the Lebanese army, Line 29 and Karish Square are a common and disputed field, but in order for it to be joint, the Lebanese government must specify coordinates at the United Nations, whereas according to the Zionist regime, there is no Line 29 and this area It is outside the waters of Lebanon, and the United States is proposing to divide the region into two parts as a way of satisfying the two sides, which is said to be in line with the US proposal to normalize relations with Israel.

On the other hand, the European Union and the Zionist regime yesterday signed a tripartite agreement with Egypt in Cairo with the aim of transferring Zionist regime gas to Europe through Egypt.

End of message.
