The continuation of the activity of actors who break norms is subject to the approval of competent authorities – Mehr news agency Iran and world’s news

According to Mehr’s reporter, the 30th episode of “Cinema Review” program aired last night on September 3rd with the topic “Loneliness” on Chahar Sima channel.

The first section of “Cinema Criticism” was dedicated to the Iranian cinema table, where Mohammad Saberi, a film journalist, hosted Seyd Morteza Fatemi and became the director of the movie “Motherless”.

Seyed Morteza Fatemi first stated: I always thought that one day I should make a film and my goal was to share my lived experiences with others in a larger and more engaging format. I was waiting for an opportunity to do this and the time of Corona was the best opportunity to take advantage of the silence and solitude and write focused in my solitude.

He continued: This film is the product of my life. This work follows a philosophy and did not seek to express content that the audience would reject; That humans are a collection of poor people who have to act. I don’t have a bad person in my film and I tried to be faithful to the narrative in the execution and editing.

The director of “Motherless” stated that he has a postmodern view of truth and life, and clarified: In my opinion, human beings are placed between the two predicaments of birth and death. Also, genetics, ecology, geography, etc. It is not a human hand, but it does not mean that a human has no authority. My point of view is that one thing is out of one’s hands anyway. If it affects the film, that is wrong, but if it doesn’t, then I went right. “Motherless” has participated in 4 festivals in the last 6 months and has won awards in three events. But my opinion is that this view works and is more popular outside of Iran.

Fatemi said about the meaningfulness of the characters’ suffering: In cinema, we are not supposed to answer anything, but we have to raise a question and ask out loud, for example, how far should people stick to their appointments and promises? I was not looking for meaningfulness and answers, but I believe that the character of “Mehrouz” gives a great meaning to the audience.

He further said: “Nearly 7 minutes of the movie “Motherless” were cut during the festival, and we are seeing the scene of natural childbirth for the first time in Iranian cinema. Many collaborations took place for this because if we didn’t see it, some sequences might not make sense.

Fatemi reminded: Loneliness is a crisis and harm of the modern world, which is wrongly promoted and promoted. I really like solitude; But equating the word loneliness with isolation is what modern man suffers from. In my opinion, a person is not a person on an island and becomes a person in a community, but he needs solitude. People should know that no one except themselves and their closest friends and relatives is supposed to take a burden off anyone else’s shoulders, and that is where people face loneliness.

Later, Mohammad Saberi stated: My feeling towards “Motherless” is twofold. I saw the movie three times and every time this work involved me in moments. “Motherless” has strengths and weaknesses from the perspective of a filmmaker’s first film. This work is one of the best first films in terms of visuals, and Masoud Salami as a cinematographer was not expected to try to make the film spectacular. Music has also been influential.

He reminded: But where the cause and normal relationship between the characters is supposed to be formed, in my opinion, it has not happened and the audience’s feeling is fragmented and broken. This created world is not unified due to cause and effect, and the characters’ decisions are not based on their personality. This makes the audience feel ambivalent.

Also, Amirreza Mafi, the host of the program, said: It seems that the director of “Motherless” believes that we live in a world where fate rules over us and the characters behave according to the ruling fate. This predestination should be seen in comparison with discretion, and according to the director’s postmodern point of view, it should be seen that after predestination, it is discretion for him?

The continuation of the activities of the actors who break the norm is subject to the approval of the competent authorities

In the continuation of the program, Ruhollah Sohrabi, Director General of the Film Screening Supervision Department of the Cinema Organization, said about the guidelines for the screening and screening of films whose actors discovered the hijab: Recently, an interview of my voice was published, in which I explained the general rules and regulations of the Ministry of Guidance. Due to the major losses and damages that have been caused to a significant part of the investors and producers of the works due to the non-observance of professional ethics and compliance with the official laws and standards of the country by some actors and agents, during the related meetings that we had with the movie directors I said that we need to clarify the way forward for the activists of this work in order to be careful of similar events in recent months and to screen the works that were produced in the conditions before these events and the norm-breaking behavior of some people.

He continued: According to the announcement and order of the high official of the ministry and accordingly the head of the cinematographic organization, we hope and try in the natural process that the works that were produced before the norm-breaking behaviors will enter the screening cycle. With this method, we can also guarantee the security of the capital.

The Director General of the Film Screening Supervision Department of the Cinema Organization stated: Competent authorities should decide on the return of actors who break the norms or offenders who have broken the law. Earlier, the Minister of Guidance and the head of the Cinema Organization said that the path is not blocked and that if an actor regrets his behavior and returns to his previous principles, he can work with the decision of the relevant authorities. Of course, in this direction, it is not only the film organization that makes the decision from zero to one hundred. Because some actions outside the rules of cinema and art have taken the form of judicial, legal, security, etc., and decision-making is not done only in the cinema organization, but takes place in a space beyond.

The movie “Frightened Bo” was the subject of this week’s cinema critique table in the program “Cinema Criticism” with the presence of Arash Khoshkho and Mohammad Reza Magdasian.

Arash Khoshkho first stated: “Smell of Fear” belongs to the category of films that give the audience a sense of fear and insecurity, considers contemporary civilization to be incomplete, and shows anxiety behind the prosperity of today’s life. This topic has a long history in today’s cinema, the best of which is Hitchcock’s “Birds”. This work does not give the audience a world view and is a collection of nightmares of a contemporary man. This work, although it was a painstaking work, did not satisfy me.

He continued: This film raises its hand to express the issue of loneliness and wastes most of the audience’s time and communicates with the audience in a difficult way. The creator of this work has taken his story seriously and wants to put all the signs in the film. This causes the audience to push back.

This film critic reminded: It goes without saying that the mother-son relationship and the impact that the domineering behavior of the mother inflicted on the son has been brought up a lot in the cinema, but it is not possible to mention “Bo Farsideh” as a good work.

Mohammad Reza Magdasian said: “It was hard for me to watch the movie the first time, but when I watched it again, what I realized was that this work requires patience.” In this film, we see social discussions in an external and symbolic form. In the meantime, I want to point out that the word loneliness and its meaning are anxiety-provoking, which means that we are more likely to be defenseless in the face of danger.

He stated: All those who talk about the psychology of growth say that the root of personality formation and the feeling of security in the world goes back to childhood and the relationship with the mother.

This film critic said: We should tell the fans of world cinema that if you are bored, watch this movie. It goes without saying that wherever Bo is afraid, he sees the world as scary.

Amirreza Mafi also stated: “Bo Tarsideh” intends to talk a lot, but if he wanted to talk less and rely on one subject, he could have created a better work.

In the continuation of “Cinema Criticism”, a special panel discussion was held on the topic of “The image of loneliness in Iranian cinema” with the presence of writer and director Babak Khajepasha.

Khajepasha first stated: we need social relations biologically, but modern society has caused us to lose these social relations and the first reason is fear. Artists who are enlightened in its true sense, that is, they see the past, feel the pain of loneliness and make films based on it. Maybe one of the reasons we didn’t enter is that we weren’t alone and didn’t feel the pain yet.

He continued: “The pain of loneliness is a great pain, and you can make a movie about it for years, but unfortunately, we don’t pay attention to it.” If they ask me how to show a lonely character, I say that the character’s relationship with himself and others should be explored, discovered and investigated.

The director of “In the embrace of the tree” said: The drama is formed based on the hero, the script and the theme, but the theme and the character are intertwined in the issue of loneliness, and the character must be so lonely that he carries the theme. This rarely happens in the script. In this way, the screenwriter should have the courage to do this, and the investor should not think about losing the box office.

Khajepasha explained: In the movie “Too Far, Too Close”, we face loneliness, which leads to growth. But in the movie “Flame War”, the pain of loneliness leads to the guard. In fact, those who are alone in Hamid Nematullah’s cinema are a danger to others and this is a traumatic issue.
