The country’s cultural heritage protection unit needs to recruit 200 personnel annually

“Controlling unauthorized excavations and reducing illegal excavations by 25 percent is one of the goals set by the protection unit of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts in 1401,” Mehri said.
The commander of the protection unit of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts stressed: “The protection of cultural heritage due to the extent and dispersion of the works requires the full participation of the people in caring for the works and introducing illegal diggers and antique dealers.”
Emphasizing that social networks have an effective role in introducing historical capacities and preventing damage to historical monuments, he said: “The whole country is an arena of cultural heritage and the preservation and protection of historical monuments needs to attract public participation. “Last year, more than 6,000 meetings were held with the villages.”
“The participation of the police plays an important role in preventing damage to historical monuments and arresting illegal diggers,” said the commander of the protection unit of the Ministry of Heritage, Culture, Tourism and Handicrafts.
