The creator of “Peaky Blinders” goes into the world of boxing



The creator of Peaky Blinders is creating a new series set in the world of illegal Victorian boxing.

Charso Press: “Peaky Blinders” creator Steven Knight is developing a new series titled “A Thousand Blows” in collaboration with Steven Graham for Disney Plus.

Steven Knight and Steve Graham, who starred in the previous series and are two very famous names on British television, this time create an original series that takes place in the illegal world of boxing in the 1880s in Victorian London.

This series, which is based on a true story, takes place in the heart of London’s criminal adventures and consists of 12 episodes.

The series portrays the story of 2 close friends named Hezekiah and Alec who come from Jamaica and fight for survival in the East End neighborhood during the violent post-industrial revolution of London. Hezekiah is drawn into criminal adventures and the glamorous boxing scene, meets a notorious gang leader, and as he hones his skills, he must confront Sugar Goodson, a skilled and dangerous boxer. The role of this boxer is played by Graham.

Knight is a writer, executive producer and creator of the series, and Graham, who recently starred in TV’s Time and The Help and earned a BAFTA nomination and starred in the sixth and final season of Peaky Blinders, is executive producing. It will also be the executive of this series. Tinj Krishnan is also the director and one of the producers of the series.

Steven Knight, who also wrote Taboo (2017), Dirty Pretty Things (2002) and Eastern Promises (2007), was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay for Dirty Pretty Things. .

He, who leads a group of writers in his new series, said that he has always liked to explore the untold history, and with this series, he portrays a truly remarkable story.

History professor David Olusuga has added academic pedigree to the series and will also serve as an executive producer.
