The death of an artist in ignorance

Abbas Jalilian (Kermanshahi music artist) passed away last week and there was not much news about it.
Charso Press: Roohangiz Rahgani (composer and music researcher) wrote a note about this recently deceased artist:
“In December 1402, another burning candle was extinguished from our music night and the art of friends mourned. Abbas Jalilian was one of the rare artists of our country who had complete skills in singing, playing and composing, without having received training or having a teacher.
He researched and collected native and local Kurdish songs and took their composition out of native and local instruments and arranged it with Iranian and Western classical instruments; A method that rarely anyone with this skill had done before him; He did all these innovations alone with a keyboard instrument.
He was a spontaneous artist and his innovations were the result of his personal efforts and genius, and he was an exceptional genius in the field of art, especially music, and he played various instruments well. Abbas Jalilian prevented many Kurdish folk songs from being scattered and forgotten and had a great role in preserving, perpetuating and identifying Kurdish music.
Not only in music, he was very skilled in painting, and he has left behind many valuable paintings, and he learned this art like his music without a teacher. With his skillful singing and performances, this artist created many works in the form of Kurdish and Iranian ballads and gave spiritual pleasure to millions of people.
Thank you to the people of Kurdistan Region for honoring and appreciating him. Alas, he passed away from us and the artistic community.
His memory is cherished and lasting”
