the desire to become a housewife; 23 years in Britain and 143 years in Iran! – Tejarat News

According to Tejarat News, it doesn’t matter where people were born in the world, what economic class they belong to, or whether they live in a multi-person household; In any situation, housing is one of the most basic needs of their lives.
A need that is becoming more difficult for Iranians to obtain day by day, and now they have to save money several times over their lifetime to buy a small house!
But how is this issue in the first world countries that are facing much lower inflation compared to Iran?
For this comparison, we have gone to the United Kingdom, which has been facing an increase in inflation for the past months, and the central bank of this country has made great efforts to take measures to control inflation.
The increase in inflation in this country even reached such a point that it forced the former Prime Minister of England to resign to quickly replace him with a fresh-faced Rishi Sunak; But what is the depth of this disorder, especially in the housing sector, and how different is it from inflation and housing prices in Iran?
Housing prices in the UK
Average house prices in the UK fell by around 1.5% between November and December 2022. This amount compared to the same month of the previous year, i.e. 2021, experienced only a two percent increase. In general, the annual growth rate in all countries and regions of the UK is on a downward path in December.
On the other hand, the Halifax index has determined that in the last 40 years, that is, since 1983, the average house price in the UK has gone up by 974%. This index also announced the average house price in December at 281,272 pounds.
Kim Kinnaird, director of the Halifax Mortgage Institute, said: The housing market in 2022 had a different picture. We saw house prices grow rapidly in the first half of the year, followed by the summer, which proved to be the start of a fall in prices from September. This is due to the impact of cost of living pressures and rising rates, which affected household finances and demand.
Comparison of the housing market in Britain and Iran
The housing market in Iran is not in good conditions and people are getting further away from their natural right to buy housing. According to Central Bank reports from Tehran, the price of housing in December this year has reached 48 million and 70 thousand tomans.
But while the average housing price in Britain has increased by 974% in the last 40 years, the housing price in Iran has increased by almost a thousand percent in the last five years alone!
Central Bank statistics show that in April 2016, the average price of housing was about four million tomans, but in December of this year, it reached 48 million and 70 thousand tomans.
This price difference in the last five years can be seen as a result of inflation. The rate of inflation in Iran has reached 5.48 according to the statistics of Iran Statistics Center and it seems that it will continue to increase.
The National Bureau of Statistics of England has also announced the consumer price index or inflation in the 12 months ending November 2022, which was about 10.7% and shows how different the concept of disorder and inflation is in the economy of Iran and Britain!
How much is British and Iranian housing?
As mentioned, the average price of a house in the UK is estimated at 281,272 pounds; On the other hand, the minimum salary in 2022 is around 3,200 pounds, and as a standard, every person should save a third of their salary for housing every month.
So a simple minimum wage worker would have to work for about 23 years to buy a house. This is despite the fact that according to the average housing price in Tehran, a simple worker with a minimum salary of four million and 179 thousand tomans must spend 143 years of his life to buy a 50-meter house in Tehran, which practically makes it impossible to own a house. !
